The Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) has rejected recent allegations regarding the integrity of the Electronic Pakistan Acquisition and Disposal System (EPADS), reaffirming its commitment to transparency, security, and accountability in public procurement.

In its clarification, the authority emphasized that EPADS is built on internationally aligned standards designed to ensure data protection and system reliability. The platform has been developed to support a secure digital procurement process, reducing manual intervention and enhancing trust across stakeholders.

EPADS plays a central role in Pakistan’s transition toward digital governance. By moving procurement processes online, the system enables greater transparency at every stage—from tender announcements to bid evaluations. This shift not only improves efficiency but also ensures that all activities are properly documented and traceable.

Officials highlighted that the system maintains a comprehensive audit trail, allowing procurement processes to be monitored and verified in real time. Such features strengthen accountability and help minimize the risk of irregularities in public sector transactions.

The authority also stressed that digital platforms like EPADS are essential for creating a fair and competitive environment. By standardizing procedures and providing equal access to information, the system supports open competition and builds confidence among vendors and institutions.

Addressing the concerns raised, PPRA noted that unverified claims can undermine ongoing efforts to modernize public sector systems. Stakeholders were encouraged to rely on official channels for accurate information and to report any concerns through proper mechanisms.

As Pakistan continues to advance its digital transformation agenda, EPADS remains a key pillar in strengthening governance and institutional transparency. With its focus on security, efficiency, and accountability, the system reflects a broader commitment to building a modern and trustworthy public procurement framework.
