Pakistan’s IT Sector Sets New Export Record with $437 Million in December

Pakistan’s IT and telecommunications sector hit a record $437 million in export remittances in December 2025, up 23% from November, according to the State Bank of Pakistan. This marks the highest monthly export ever for the sector, driven by software development, IT-enabled services, and telecom solutions.

Pakistan’s IT and telecommunications sector achieved a historic milestone in December 2025, recording $437 million in export remittances, up 23% from $366 million in November, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). This marks the highest monthly export ever for the sector, reflecting its growing role as a driver of economic growth and foreign exchange.

Record-Breaking Performance

  • Month-on-Month Growth: +23% from November 2025
  • Year-on-Year Growth: +25% compared to December 2024 ($348M)
  • Historical Peak: Surpassed October 2025 ($386M)

The exports span software development, IT-enabled services, and telecom solutions, demonstrating sustained global demand for Pakistan’s IT services despite short-term economic fluctuations. Mid-Year Review (July–November FY26)

  • Cumulative IT & telecom exports: $2.236 billion, up 19% from $1.866 billion last year
  • IT now accounts for 10.8% of Pakistan’s total exports, the highest share ever recorded
