Pakistani IT Firm Itanz Technologies Secures $1.23 Million Contract with Australian Utility

Pakistan-based technology company Itanz Technologies Limited has secured an international contract worth AU$1.75 million (approximately $1.23 million) with Australia’s Icon Water Limited, marking another milestone for Pakistan’s growing IT export sector.
According to a notice submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the agreement will involve the deployment of integration architecture solutions for Icon Water Limited over a period of five years. The Australian utility company provides water and wastewater services across the Australian Capital Territory and plays a key role in the region’s infrastructure.
Itanz Technologies Limited, originally incorporated in Pakistan in 1990 and formerly known as Zahur Cotton Mills Limited, transitioned into the technology sector after merging with ITANZ Technology Private Limited. Following approval from the Lahore High Court, the company shifted its focus toward software development, IT consultancy, system integration, and digital implementation services.
The newly secured contract reflects the growing global demand for Pakistan’s IT expertise and highlights the increasing presence of Pakistani technology companies in international markets. Industry observers believe such partnerships will help strengthen Pakistan’s IT exports, expand business opportunities for local tech firms, and enhance the country’s reputation as an emerging destination for digital services and software development.
With international collaborations like this, Pakistan’s technology sector continues to move toward greater global integration, supporting the country’s vision of becoming a competitive player in the global digital economy.
